Sheldon Lavin Keeps OSI Alive

OSI Group has gone through some serious changes over its history and the past certainly paints a vivid picture. It has gone from a small meat deli to one of the world’s largest food processors in a matter of a century. There’s certainly something to be said there, but exactly what caused the success of OSI is something to be carefully examined. Few corporations have ever gotten so far in such little time. Clearly there was some magic at work that can’t be seen elsewhere. Sheldon Lavin is an example of that magic working at its finest.

Sheldon Lavin’s greatest work is his ability to handle the finances of OSI in a way that makes the company incredibly productive. He is responsible for OSI’s purchases of many foreign meat processors in order to expand the business. Prior to his involvement OSI was more of a small family business than the major corporation it is today. The company had the potential to take over the world with the right figurehead in charge of everything. This is where Sheldon Lavin came into play. He helped OSI gain a foothold in overseas market and stomp out the competition leading to its current dominance of the market today.

The most important thing any company can do is diversify and find ways to increase its income stream. That’s exactly what Lavin had OSI do when he decided he wanted to sell frozen dough and vegetables as well. The ability to provide customers with literally everything they’re going to need in order to run a fast food business is how OSI is able to take out the competition. No other corporation is able to provide this variety of service to this many clients. It gives them an advantage the competition can never even think to match.

While Sheldon Lavin has undeniably played a major role in helping OSI reach where it is today, it’s often too easy to put OSI’s success on some abstract ambition, but it’s clear it took great leadership to get here. As long as Lavin remains CEO OSI Industries will almost certainly continue to see success. There isn’t any obvious flaw in his working that should disrupt the company’s success. When he decides to step down he’ll certainly find a way to replace himself with competent leadership. This is exactly why his company has managed to last as long as it has.
