Sheldon Lavin Keeps OSI Alive

OSI Group has gone through some serious changes over its history and the past certainly paints a vivid picture. It has gone from a small meat deli to one of the world’s largest food processors in a matter of a century. There’s certainly something to be said there, but exactly what caused the success of OSI is something to be carefully examined. Few corporations have ever gotten so far in such little time. Clearly there was some magic at work that can’t be seen elsewhere. Sheldon Lavin is an example of that magic working at its finest.

Sheldon Lavin’s greatest work is his ability to handle the finances of OSI in a way that makes the company incredibly productive. He is responsible for OSI’s purchases of many foreign meat processors in order to expand the business. Prior to his involvement OSI was more of a small family business than the major corporation it is today. The company had the potential to take over the world with the right figurehead in charge of everything. This is where Sheldon Lavin came into play. He helped OSI gain a foothold in overseas market and stomp out the competition leading to its current dominance of the market today.

The most important thing any company can do is diversify and find ways to increase its income stream. That’s exactly what Lavin had OSI do when he decided he wanted to sell frozen dough and vegetables as well. The ability to provide customers with literally everything they’re going to need in order to run a fast food business is how OSI is able to take out the competition. No other corporation is able to provide this variety of service to this many clients. It gives them an advantage the competition can never even think to match.

While Sheldon Lavin has undeniably played a major role in helping OSI reach where it is today, it’s often too easy to put OSI’s success on some abstract ambition, but it’s clear it took great leadership to get here. As long as Lavin remains CEO OSI Industries will almost certainly continue to see success. There isn’t any obvious flaw in his working that should disrupt the company’s success. When he decides to step down he’ll certainly find a way to replace himself with competent leadership. This is exactly why his company has managed to last as long as it has.

Whitney Wolfe: The Boss Babe Who Created Bumble

Whitney Wolfe has created a social networking application that helps people within close proximity to connect. The unique and fastest growing dating app is called Bumble. This has sparked all sorts of wonderful things, from life-long loves to life-long friends.

The 28-year-old CEO thought of a new angle at which to approach dating apps. She realized that other apps were not geared towards women. At Bumble, the women have to make the first move by sending the first message within 24-hours. This empowers women to be brave and helps to ensure that women do not get any unwanted messages from matches.

Once the dating piece of Bumble was created, she implemented Bumble BFF, which allows people of the same sex to meet friends. This way, women can find new women to chat over cocktails and men can find new work out buddies.

The Bumble headquarters are located in Austin, Texas. Whitney Wolfe attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, so the move to Austin made sense. Austin has a booming technology industry and is a great place for such a successful application to blossom even more.

Up next for Bumble is Bumble Bizz, which was rolled out in October. The new project is geared towards professional networking and mentoring. With the same principle behind Bumble, the women on Bumble Bizz make the first contact. From this application, users have the ability to upload example of their work, their resume, and any special skills they have. This application is not built for actually applying for jobs. Instead, the goal is to connect with other professionals in order to support and encourage each other. This application has the potential to help empower women, to connect like-minded professionals, and to provide aid for those who are moving forward in their careers.

In 2015, Michael Herd, her boyfriend of three years, proposed to Wolfe while they were visiting his ranch in Texas. In September of this year Whitney and Michael finally tied the knot. The couple held wedding in Positano, Italy. It was a true celebration of the couple’s love for each other.

2017 has been a big year for the young entrepreneur. With a new branch of the incredibly successful business and a new marriage, Whitney Wolfe is just at the beginning of her adventure through success.
